Lina Issa’s upcoming
Happening taking place in Kiruna this September has already gained some Swedish media response: The regional newspapers
Norrbottens-Kuriren and
NSD have reported on her art work taking place along the city’s crack-line. Issa’s Happening, which will be performed with the help of about 800 people living in Kiruna, takes the form of a community tug-of-rope. The artist will gather people in the “sprickzon”, the part of the city where the crack becomes visible, where they will face an area that will no longer exist in the future of Kiruna. Issa aims to make room for a discussion about memories as well as the future of the city through this Happening. As can be read in the articles, she wants the inhabitants of Kiruna to get the chance to participate in the city’s changes and movement.
