The conference is presented by York University and 3D FLIC. Wim Wenders and his producer Gian-Piero Ringel are guests of the Goethe-Institut Toronto and the OMDC.
Acclaimed German director Wim Wenders and producer Gian-Piero Ringel will take part in the Toronto International Stereoscopic 3D Conference. The conference is a gathering of an interdisciplinary group of industry and academic experts in the stereoscopic 3D art and entertainment arena, who will address and analyze the “new era in 3D cinema”. Besides giving the keynote, Wenders and Ringel will offer a masterclass around their 3D movie “Pina”.
Wim Wenders is a German film director, playwright, author, photographer and producer. Wenders began his career with the rise of the New German Cinema at the end of the 1960s. The numerous awards that he has since received include the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, the Palme d'Or, Best Direction and the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Silver Bear Jury Prize at the Berlin Film Festival. Wenders was awarded honorary doctorates at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium.
Gian-Piero Ringel is the executive director and partner of Wim Wenders’ production company Neue Road Movies. Amongst others he produced Wenders’ “Palermo Shooting” in 2008 and his 3D films “If Buildings Could Talk” and “Pina”.
