Remember how we asked you before the summer break what your favourite German film was? Thanks for everyone who sent their thoughts, which quite rightly included a lot of Fassbinder & Herzog, but also newer features such as "23", which we showed in our GOETHE FILMS @ TIFF Bell Lightbox series earlier this year.
Most intriguing choice though goes to Tara:
“666: Traue keinem, mit dem du schlaefst!“ The 2002 sleeper hit comedy of a luckless cab driver who sells his soul to Mephisto to live the life of one of his idols features star actors such as Armin Rohde (see photo) and Jan Josef Liefers in the leads as Mephisto and Faust in this hilarious Goethe remake. Plus guest appearances by the likes of tennis star Boris Becker.
And during TIFF 2012, you will have more than enough choice for a new favourite German film. How about "Peaches Does Herself", written, directed and played by Berlin-based Canadian punk goddess Peaches?
In late August: Our fall season announcement and of course more German films at TIFF.
