What Christian Petzold said in our Goethe Film Talk 2014 about PHOENIX also holds true for TRANSIT, which had its sold out North American premiere at #TIFF18:
“In filmmaking, I am only interested in what remains, not the event itself, but the repercussions. You feel that something is working in the foundation underneath the story, that's cinema. I'm not filming Auschwitz, we're working on what happens to society, to love, to loyalty, solidarity.”
