And wants to be sure that his dream mega-project (and legacy) “Leipzig 2025” is in good hands. He wants to use one of the biggest urban development projects in Europe to create a monument to himself. The pressure mounts when the funding has to be set up all over again. Jörg Schüttauf was born in 1961 in Karl Marx City (now Chemnitz), East Germany. He worked at theatres in Potsdam and East Berlin before starting a successful TV career, after the fall of the Wall, including the cult crime series “Tatort.” On the big screen, you have seen him in the internationally successful films "Berlin is in Germany" (2001) and "The People vs. Fritz Bauer" (2015; see our TIFF review).
