This October, GOETHE FILMS presents the exclusive Canadian premiere of the complete first season of acclaimed TV mini series “Bad Banks.” The German-Luxemburgish co-production set at the heart of Europe’s financial capitals premiered at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival 2018 and went on to win the Audience Award at the Kino Festival New York. JANA LIEKAM (25) is a highly talented and ambitious woman,
whose entire life revolves around her profession. Raised by her mother, who died while Jana was still a teenager, Jana lives with her boyfriend Noah (33) and his daughter Flo (5) in Luxembourg and works as at the country's largest investment bank. After an ill-fated incident, Jana not only has to give up her job but also leaves Noah and Flo behind, trying to make a name for herself in Frankfurt at the intervention of senior bank executive Christelle Leblanc. Now indebted to Leblanc, Jana is expected to deliver something in return.To survive in this power game she has to rise above herself and be prepared to cross limits.

Paula Beer was born in 1995 in Mainz, Germany, and lives in Berlin. She is an actress, known for “Transit” (2018), “Frantz“ (2016), “Poll“ (2010), and “The Dark Valley“ (2014), where she already played next to Tobias Moretti, who also stars in Bad Banks.
