Name & role: Stephanie Weimar, documentary filmmaker, researcher, camerawoman, editor; born in Germany, based in Canada
This is my 1st Berlinale.
Why are you in Berlin? To present my first feature documentary film, a German-Canadian co-production with ARTE called "Die Gelübde Meines Bruders" / "My Brother's Vows" at the Berlin Independent Film Festival. The event runs at the same time as the Berlinale - so I can go to all the Berlinale parties and invite everyone to see my film.
Best advice on how to survive the Berlinale: Tried and true: Flying in from Canada, I never get over my jetlag - 6a.m. will always feel like the night is just about to begin.
Which Berlinale section would you love to see one of your films in? I'd really love one of these little Golden Bears, of course. No, seriously, I'd be extremely proud if one of my films was featured in any section - they're all really fantastic.
German film I am most looking forward to seeing at Berlinale: Lots! "Los Angeles", "Jack", "Kreuzweg", "Raumfahrer", "Die Unschuldigen", "Nebel", "Souvenir", "The Airstrip"...
