Missed the Berlinale 2013? No worries.
We invited TIFF AD Cameron Bailey and his colleagues Andrea Picard and Magali Simard, all freshly back from Potsdamer Platz, to give you an insight into the international festival circuit and their take on Berlin 2013.
What were Berlin's trends & themes this year, and how might the year continue with Cannes, Venice and TIFF? Where do they think German film is going, and which directors & actors are they keeping an eye on? Use this chance to ask Team TIFF about their personal Berlinale experiences and impressions.
Cameron Bailey is the Artistic Director of the Toronto International Film Festival, responsible for the selection of films from Africa to South Asia to Germany for the Festival each September.
He has been attending Berlin since 1991. Andréa Picard programs TIFF's Wavelengths section and Cinematheque, with such previous highlights as the Berlin School retrospective and the Canadian DREILEBEN premiere. This year,
Andrea focussed on the renowned Competition, Forum and Forum Expanded sections of the Berlinale. One of her big highlights was the installation created by Véréna Paravel and Lucien Castaing-Taylor based on their film LEVIATHAN, which TIFF showed in Wavelengths.
Magali Simard had her eye on new releases for TIFF Bell Lightbox, Canada's Top Ten and Short Cuts and might give us a sneak peek at what we might see this year in TIFF's five cinemas.
