I scream and I pray, but I am within four walls, and at the end of the day, all I hear is the echo of my own voice.
Policymakers, the people in suits digging our graves, every day they look into my face and dig another hole, for my people, for my soul.
Every day... I allow only two tears to escape my eyes:
One for my people, languishing in prisons, losing eyes, tortured, going to bed without mothers, afraid of going to hospitals.
The other, for my people who have become overcome with hate and sectarianism, that they scream for lynching, imprisonment and torture.
I close my eyes at night, and wish for peace, and every morning I do not find it.
They call it the Arab Spring, they beautify... the bloodshed, the spilt brains, the torture, the arrests.
Spring, people losing their arms… Spring, people shot in the chest… Spring people electrocuted… Spring, people with their jaws broken…
Spring.
If this is spring, what will winter be like?
