Club culture is a global phenomenon, but what music are these people dancing to in these cities and what music did they use to dance to in the past? In what sort of spaces do they meet up? What public spheres do they form? What do these club cultures mean to the urbanity of a city? And what happens when the club music from two different continents meet head on? More...

Bio
Just A Band is a collective of four artists who have been working together for around eight years now dabbling in music and visual artistry. In addition to writing, recording and engineering their music, the band creates their own music videos, packaging and promotional items and establishing a strong web and blog presence. They are strongly credited with injecting freshness to the music scene and being bold enough to experiment with sounds that were hitherto unheard of in the local music scene. Their albums “scratch to reveal” (2008), “82” (2009) as well as their latest one “Sorry For The Delay” (2012) got each rave reviews. As a result, the band was subsequently featured on CNN, The Wall Street Journal and Fast Company.
