Whether it's in Nairobi or in Kyiv, in Bristol or in Cairo: in all the major cities of Africa and Europe, people get together in dedicated spaces to dance to music and party – and create communities, subcultures and public spheres. Club culture is a global phenomenon, but what music are these people dancing to in these cities and what music did they use to dance to in the past? In what sort of spaces do they meet up? What public spheres do they form? What do these club cultures mean to the urbanity of a city? And what happens when the club music from two different continents meet head on? More...

Bio
Afrologic consists of Temi Oyedele, Gboyega Oyedele aka Eddie Gee, O ‘Pedru and Willy Bestman. They set out in 2002 to create an incomparable sound through the fusion of native African instruments, electronic music, and Afrobeat. Since then they released several EPs, worked with artists both from Nigeria and abroad, e.g Keziah Jones, Tony Allen, and Wunmi Olaiya, and were commissioned by the FELABRATION team to do a remix of Fela Kuti’s “Viva Nigeria Viva Afrika” in 2010, and Fela Kuti/Roy Ayers "Africa Centre Of The World", 2012. Afrologic are unafraid to push the borders of conventional African music, delivering a remarkable ‘futuristic’ Afro sound.
