Beto Shwafaty

Beto Shwafaty is a Brazilian artist who currently resides in Frankfurt am Main. During his stay in the city, where he attends HFBK Städelschule, Beto entered into contact with several artists with the aim to better understand the local cultural scene. Following the invitation by the blog Studio Visits, he writes about his experiences of visiting artists who have their studios in Frankfurt or are working on projects in the city. Graduated in Visual Arts from UNICAMP and holding a Master Degree in Visual Arts and Curatorial Studies by Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano, Beto‘s interests lie in the socio-cultural issues within the sphere of contemporary art. He writes from the perspective of an artist whose practice stretches from contemporary art to other realms of society. He has participated in exhibitions and artistic projects in Brazil, England, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
