PUBLIC WORKSHOPS for Unlearning
The “On movement and public space” workshop was hosted with Dance Troup Practice, the self-organized and non-hierarchical dance collaborative that is open to anyone interested in exploring movement. Over the past months DTP has been exploring how unlearning can be situated in the body, mind and in shared movement. The public was invited to join this exploration, as DTP takes its approach and shared open process into public space.
The “Costumes and Props for Unlearning” workshop combined open craft studio with presentations and collaborative construction. The public was invited to prepare costumes, accessories and props that will function as triggers and instigators of unlearning during the procession: i.e. props that require collaborative engagement, costumes to wear with strangers or that challenge our usual habits, and objects for ceremonial acts.
