BioGrit Ruhland was born 1979 in Gera (GDR), received her degree 2005 in Fine Arts at Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden and became “Meisterschülerin” of Prof. Martin Honert. Her artistic works explores specific realities of spaces. Her work bases on a conceptual approach and involves projects within Community Arts, Public Art, Sound Art and interaction with scientific institutes and topics. Keywords are scale, space, invisibility, technology, landscape and participation. She has been teaching in artistic faculties at Universities of Wuppertal and Dresden, since 2007. She was involved in exhibitions, symposia and projects around Germany, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Austria, France, Italy, Lithuania, Northern Ireland and Singapore. Currently, she is PhD-candidate at Bauhaus Universität Weimar, Public Art and Spatial planning, Spatial research, studying the effects of Uranium mining on the landscape in East Germany.
