There's a new publisher in town, the New York-based Berlinica, a multi-media house offering a spate of titles on Germany's capital city, including fiction, travel guides, history, cookbooks, and CDs. The imprint launches with works dedicated to the Berlin Wall, including Wallflower, by Holly-Jane Rahlens, a Berlin-based New Yorker who will read from her novel at the launch party for Berlinica thrown by the German Consulate General. (Ms. Rahlens also reads at the Deutsches Haus NYU on November 11 at 2pm.)
Singer Micaela Leon will also be on hand, performing "Songs of Weimar Berlin", which is the title of her new CD issued by Berlinica.
You'll need to RSVP to this event, as a reservation is required. Send a mail with your name and the names of any guests to: germanconsulatenyc@gmail.com
