December is a month of joy! Kids get a chance to ask for gifts. Schools prepare Christmas & New Year shows. Shoppers are excited about the seasonal sale. Workers plan to leave Bangkok for visiting their families in hometown while the others schedule their vacation trips. But most of all we’re just counting down to the most relax time of the year.
As you may have heard, there is quite a bit of flooding going on here in Bangkok. Out of curiosity, I took my bicycle out and went exploring some of the areas beside the river that are flooded. At times I was cycling through knee-deep water and at times, I was on dry roads which were free of cars. I bought some food and cycled to the top of the Pinklao bridge to watch the sunset and eat my supper. The far side of the bridge didn't meet land, rather it ended by disappearing into the water. Thus, this normally traffic-congested road-way over the river was quiet and peaceful. Quite a few people were hanging out up there- fishing off the bridge, taking photos, eating. It seemed like a park in the early evening. A few days later, a few friends and I went out to play with cameras and music in some of these newly-peaceful areas- here's what we made. It got me to imagining (not for the first time) what this city would be like if it didn't have a traffic problem. Bangkok is known for it's horrible traffic. The traffic is something that affects most every aspect of our lives here and all of our senses.
Sitting on top of that park-on-a-bridge, I began to picture different areas of the city without the automobiles that rule them. The whole feeling of the city changed; in my mind's eye, it became much more pleasant, quieter and less stressful.
So I decided to use my camera to create a few images of what it could be like rather than what it is like.
So three of these images of normally traffic-congested areas of the city are not real pictures. They are composited images, made up of 50-100 images each. Thus, using the power of modern technology, I have single-handedly solved Bangkok's traffic problem and created a bit more peace on earth... The final picture is something more sinister.

Bangkok's central business district. Normally at this time of day, it can take you an hour to cover the distance shown in this photograph by car (or 10 minutes on a bicycle).

This event counts as one major fashion event which Thai designers and fashion trendsetters have been waiting for. From the first time to its 7th year, showing Thai Fashion Industry tends to generate Thai identity through styles and fashion ways like ‘Think global dress local’, 2010’s fashion campaign proposed by Bangkok Fashion Society, implied the new direction of Thai fashion.
Money really makes the place go round and sometime go nuts! I see cent and sensibilities as money and happiness for Bangkok’s lives. Both are considered as components of life that play a major role in urban life anywhere in the world. We live in happiness measured by cents. The more money we make, the more happiness to come. Some even believe that money is the only source of happiness as quoted “money can buy anything”.
Parts of Thailand including South, North and Central are now suffering from abrupt flooding disaster which has caused many lives in casualty loss, mostly people who live along river bank.

Bangkokians, though, have not yet effected from the incident but our City of Angle drowned under 2 metres water level back in 1942 and 1995.This is something we, city people, should be concerned about.

I doubted what has caused all these natural disasters but certainly we, the residents of this world, are the one who destroying the world’s balance. One evidently example I have is that we used to have enough trees and forests to absorb the rain and slow down the influx but they are now damaged from forest invasion.

Even though, skyscraper, concrete jungle and air conditioned have become integral parts of our lives. But natural yearning of city people to be involved with nature still has never been lost.
Most people in Bangkok are actually from somewhere else. The urbanization of Thailand has been huge and Bangkok is where most Thai people who leave their homes end up. In essence, Bangkok's "culture" is a mix of the cultural heritage of the many regions of Thailand, and even beyond, into international waters. In many ways, Bangkok is not really a city, but a huge mush of villages all crammed together and coated in concrete.

This is a collection of images of people in different parts of Thailand- north to south.
Staring at each other across the Chao Praya river, which runs through the heart of Bangkok, stand two towers.

Neither are finished.

One never will be.
In Bangkok, people often make use of things that would otherwise be trash (or recycled).
There is a culture of on-line flirting and hook-ups among Thai youth. I asked my friend Kwaang to help me explore it.
