From January through December 2011, these were the parameters for a playground of diverse, fascinating, vibrant tales: Responding individually to a collective impetus, a host of hand-picked young bloggers uploaded photos, texts, and multimedia. Every month, they were given a new theme. Step by step, they created a kaleidoscope of impressions, opinions, ideas and… plain fun.

Transmediale Berlin 2012 - by S.Lone & J.Brooking

Deconstructed Simpsons

You never know what to expect when the programme briefing of a festival involves watching a Boyz II Men track slowed down and warped, but Transmediale couldn't have come at a better time. The festival followed the arrest of German born Kim Dot Com (the founder of file sharing website Mega Upload) who is now being tried in the New Zealand High Court. Transmediale is a week long event engaging discussions between art, technology and culture. Transmediale is a transdisciplinary platform, a place for new artistic, academic, activist and everyday expressions.

Discoveries - Berlin





For a city, Berlin is a never ending discovery of new places and sites to see both old and new. A complicated history with one not needing to look too far to see constant reminders of what has passed. Small remembrance plaques on the side walk, remnants of the Berlin Wall, countless museums and old worn buildings with the occasional bullet mark.

Keeping the Greens Growing - Auckland

Born in 1981 the Kelmarna Gardens is a small slice of farm land in the built up city of Auckland. Providing organic fruit and vegetables to the surrounding community (in the past offering boxes of freshly delivered produce to your door) it also runs educational programs for groups and schools but most notably runs a program for mental health clients.

Earthquake City? - Auckland


There is over four hundred commercial buildings in Auckland which may not survive a moderate earthquake. After the recent earthquake in Christchurch which damaged countless buildings and took many lives the spotlight has turned to Auckland questioning the safety and future of it's heritage buildings.

Every year Auckland and other cities round the country have a rubbish collection aptly named Inorganic Rubbish. This refers to the end of the road and life to the items and objects that can not be salvaged, reused or recycled and made into something else.

Consumerist in my Neighborhoods – Auckland

For the city of Auckland it’s not very friendly to the feet. Many hills, well actually old volcanoes, over fifty sprawl through the suburbs of Auckland.
