Build Your
Own City

Intro

One of the most visible parts of the project will be the temporary Mayor's office installed in public space as an open pavilion, in the designing and construction of which I will be directly involved. During its installation, I will be responsible for organising a series of meetings – workshops with members of the community, during which we will try to materialise issues and desires about the imagined city. I will propose the building of scale models, using simple materials and shapes; role-play interviews with members of the public administration; a public picnic or open-air movie nights. The actual activities will largely depend on the interests and motivation of the participants themselves and will aim at increasing their identification with their urban surroundings.
My general input in the project will be directed towards the relational part of our public intervention, and will complement my colleagues’ urbanism and architectural approaches.
