Singapore: Wee Tian Beng
He was the first Singaporean artist who created full-colour manga and whose series were distributed internationally.
In 1993, he further became the first Singaporean mangaka/artist to break into the Taiwan and Hong Kong manga market with his manga "Astronautics".
In 1997, Wee received the Asia Manga Prestigious Award at the Asian Manga Summit held in Seoul, South Korea.
To date, he has created more than 170 volumes of manga work which have been translated into Simplified and Traditional Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai, Japanese and Korean.
Well-known also as the founder of TCZ Studio and Comics Society of Singapore, he has appeared in various manga and art related events in Singapore and overseas.
