Hamburg: Sascha Hommer

In Hamburg, Hommer founded the comic anthology Orang, which is a series featuring international guest entries that was initially published through Hommer's own Kikipost publishing house. In 2007, Hommer and Jan-Frederik Bandel started a co-production of their Im Museum stories, which were published on a daily basis in the renowned German paper Frankfurter Rundschau.
Hommer is interested in the outsiders who live on the margins of society. As he puts it himself: “Losers are generally interesting people.“ Pascal, the protagonist in Hommer's debut book, is an insect - which certainly sets him apart from his playmates.
Thanks to his melancholy stories and his reduced drawing style and narrative, Hommer is now well-known for his soft approach and the subtle atmosphere he creates.
