Berlin: Mawil

Following a very dynamic approach and publishing his stories in fanzines and with small publishers, Mawil founded the ‘Monogatari’ comic group at Kunsthochschule Weißensee. As a studio community, the artists published their comics DIY style, exploring new narrative possibilities for the medium of the comic.
Among his publications are "Alltagsspionage" (2001), "Wir können ja Freunde bleiben" (2003), "Die Band" (2004), "Action Sorgenkind" (2007), and many others. In his Supahasi comic, Mawil entertainingly depicts his clumsy protagonists – as his alter ego or as a fox and a rabbit – in an original artistic style, making faithful observations of real life.
