Karl Hoffmann
Karl Hoffmann began his career in 1976 with Verlag Nürnberger Presse. From 1983 onwards, he was employed by Bayerischer Rundfunk first as an editor of the daily TV news program and subsequently for its current events radio programme. From 1988-1994 he worked as a freelance correspondent for Germany’s ARD radio in Bologna. From 1994-2000 he headed ARD’s radio studios in Rome to take charge of reporting on Italy, Malta and the Vatican.
Since then, he has worked as a freelance correspondent from Palermo for ARD’s radio and TV programs to report on southern Italy and the Mediterranean. He was awarded the second prize at the Nuremberg International Human Rights Film Festival in 2002 and the Civis prize in 2003. Karl Hoffman is the co-author of “Three Mile Island”, a multimedia concert staged in 2012 in Karlsruhe and Rome.
